January 24 - Delicious Saturday

Last night's dinner at Indian Garden was spectacular. We ate a little late (8:30pm), but it was worth it.

Breakfast - 3 cups of coffee.

Lunch - Piece of salmon & 2 pieces of whole organic toast with butter and fig/pear butter. :)

Dinner - 1/2 can of black beans. 1 sweet potato. A few blueberries for dessert.

And an aside - most of these photos were taken with my new Casio Exilim EX-S10RD 10.1MP. It's a pretty spiffy camera with "smile detection" (yes, it only takes pictures when the subject is smiling.) The camera is tiny, powerful, 10MP and it's gonna be perfect for vacation.

January 23 - Friday

No big plans this weekend. Going to Gordon Square tonight after I pick up Bob from the airport. There's some kind of open gallery art thing going on. Tomorrow, I will be photographing jewelry all day for Russ. Sunday I will probably start baking Zak's birthday cake.

Off to do my push ups and sit ups.

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee.

Lunch - Spinach Salad

Snack - 100 cal pack Cocoa Almonds (Thanks, Carol! These totally rock!)

Dinner - Went to India Garden. 1/2 piece of bean crisp, 1/2 order of Lamb/Rice dish (amazing). (I originally only took 1/4 of the dish, but it was so good I took another 1/4). 3/4 piece of garlic naan. Bob's first time here and he loved it.

January 22 - Ugh. The Chicken's Last Revenge

Two days ago I made the mistake of grabbing a Burger King salad with fried chicken. I've had dozens of these things in the past without issue. However, this salad has become the reason I will never eat at another fast food joint.

Maybe after a 6 week detox my body is a little more sensitive. This salad ripped up my insides like never before. And now, without being too graphic, it doesn't want to leave my body. I thought for sure with the extra grease it would make things as slippery as the coastline after the Exxon Valdiz spill, but no such luck. If this doesn't remedy itself today, I'm calling for professional help.

On a gentler note, I made a fresh batch of yogurt last night. I'm concerned that I might have scalded the milk which might affect the taste. I'll give a report tomorrow. Oh, and I've now moved from whole milk to 2%.

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee. Flax Oil. Yogurt/Blueberries/Fiber One

Snack - 100 cal pack caramel rice cakes

Lunch - Spinach salad/cheese/cranberries

Snack - small handful of 'runts' candy

Dinner - 3/4 cup black beans and cheese

Later - Vodka/cranberry

January 20 - I'm Ready for Change

Today is a historic day. I'm so ready for change. Things have been so stagnant for what seems like forever. Somehow, for better or worse, I know that the course of today's actions will warrant a new beginning and affect my behaviours for the near future.

I am talking about my weight, of course. I've been at 211.8 for three whole days. I'm so ready to see that blasted number change from my scale.

Our soon-to-be new president has asked each American to step up the to plate, be the best he can be, and take personal responsibility for our current state of affairs. I'm right there with him. I'm taking total responsibility for the garbage I've been feeding myself.

Here's to a new tomorrow.

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee. Flax Oil Gel Tab. Yogurt/blueberries/Fiber One Cereal

Lunch - Rushed out, grabbed a Burger King salad with fried chicken. Yuck. My stomach turned for 6 hours afterward.

Dinner - bread. 1/2 of this bowl of wedding soup. 1 piece of pizza.

Late snack - 1/3 cup of cheddar melted in a tortilla.

Yes, it was a bit of a 'poor choice' day. Decide to shock my system and then bring it back to good eating.

January 19 - Mid Workout

It's MLK Day and I don't have the day off. Instead, I'm working a late shift and going in from 1pm to 9pm (what was I thinking?!)

Since I'm going in late, I'm getting my 100PushUp challenge and my 200 SitUp Challenge done for the day. After that, some glute work followed by some time on the step. Then a shower, prepare lunch and dinner and head to the office.

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee.

Snack - Choco Meringue. About 8 calories.
Lunch - Brought a Salad to Work.
Dinner - Had to work late, so yes, I brought another salad to work.

Note about Spinach. I really like spinach salads. When buying in the bag, look for young, small leaves. The stuff I just bought had these huge leaves and they're tough and stringy. Bleh.

January 18 - GAH! More Snow!

You probably noticed how little I ate yesterday. Don't worry. I'm not on some kind of Olsen Twin Starvation diet. I got to spend the day mostly by myself and I just paid attention to what my body wanted. It's easy to see how animals can hibernate all winter; I barely moved from the couch yesterday and only ate when I was really hungry.

Meanwhile, I've charted my weight loss from the beginning of this project in Excel. The two charts below represent my weight loss from Dec 1, 2008, and the 2nd chart is this past week's progress.

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee. Flax Oil Gel Tab. 1/2 cup yogurt. 1/3 cup Fiber One Cereal. 1/4 cup blueberries. (Note: expect to see Fiber One Cereal on my list for a long time. The grocery store had it on sale for $2.50 a box. I bought four more boxes.)

Lunch - Spinach Salad w/cranberries, cheese, blue cheese, vidalia onion dressing

Dinner - Pasta w/quick sauce (tomatoes, onions, garlic, olive oil). I actually measured a proper serving of the pasta (3/4 cup dry) and was surprised that it was enough to fill me up.

Late Snack - Was craving something sweet around 10:30pm. This handful of blueberries did the trick.
