February 16 - Back on Track

Who knew that February would be the hardest month for dieting? The holidays were tempting, but I was motivated. February brought post-resolution blahs, birthdays and Valentine's Day. At least I feel like I'm back on track today losing some of that temporary weight gain.

Breakfast - Coffee (just one)

Lunch - Sweet & Sour Chicken. Yes, the whole thing.

Dinner - 1/2 Turkey Sandwich (picture coming)

February 15 - Less Binge. More Purge.

OK, I'm not really going to start purging, but after the last 2 days of big-eating, I'm ready to reel it all back in and start eating right again. My belly feels like there's 2 terriers fighting in there.

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee. 2 egg omelet with cheese and onion. 2 slices toast.

Snack - the rest of that chocolate bar from yesterday.

That's it. That's all I ate today. I wasn't hungry after breakfast because of the foodapalooza going on in my belly from the last 2 days. It's 10:20pm and I'm finally a little hungry -- but I'm more tired so I'm just hitting the sack.

February 14 - Valentine's Day

Keep the chocolates away, please. I'm still rolling from last night's dinner. The scale says I packed on more than 3 lbs in a single day. I can feel it. I feel like Octo-Mom.

Tonight we are going to Zak & Dan's to celebrate Dan's birthday. First going to the Loco Leprechaun, a Mexican-Irish place (????) and then back to their place for a chocolate fest.

Follow Up - Yesterday was a fatty-fat day. Oh, well. :)

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee.

Lunch - Spinach Salad.

Snack - 1/2 of this Green & Black's Organic Toffee Milk Chocolate bar

Dinner/Party - 4 pieces of shrimp. A piece of bacon dipped in chocolate and rolled in peanuts. (As nasty as it sounds). Blue Cheese/Bacon Potato chips. A little Chicken Paprikash. Not shown: piece of pumpkin birthday cake.

February 13 - Friday the 13th Edition

Ch-ch-ch-ha-ha-ha...

The first real horror film I ever saw. (OK, my parents took me to see "Rosemary's Baby", but I was 5 and really didn't understand it.) Friday the 13th scared the bejeebus out of me and thus began my affinity towards horror/slasher films.

What does this have to do with weight loss? Absolutely nothing.

Today was a scary day, food-wise. I ate like Godzilla taking New York. By the end of the evening, I was bloated and feeling nasty.

Breakfast - 1 cups of coffee. Fiber One Cereal.

Lunch - Longhorn Steakhouse to celebrate Dan's birthday. Slice of Bread, Firecracker Chicken Rollups. I got these because when I looked online, I read that it was only 160 calories. Now, looking at it again, I realize that was for 2 pieces. I ate 5 of 'em. Still not too bad.

Snack -During our afternoon meeting, I ate 2 chocolate covered strawberries and a cookie.

Dinner - Went to Stir Crazy at Legacy Village. Not pictured: 1/2 a Green Dragon martini. Shown: 1.5 duck won ton rollups. LARGE bowl of do-it-yourself stir fry with tofu, shrimp, veggies, peanut sauce. OMG. It was delicious, but I should have eaten 1/4 of it.

February 12 - Everyone Knows it's Windy...

Grrr.

Barely slept last night. The high winds whistle through my house causing loose windows to rattle and doors to slam shut. I was jolted several times and finally moved to sleep on the couch.

Yesterday's food binging was delightful. It was still constrained compared to previous eating habits, but it was not my normal day-to-day routine. I actually missed eating my spinach salad.

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee. Flax Oil Gel Tab.

Lunch - Made 3 popovers (1 egg, 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of milk)

Dinner - Spinach Salad

February 11 - Brad & I are at goal for the month

Talked to Brad last night who said he's just about at goal for the month. Way to go, baby! I also hit my goal for the month. Now, we just need to maintain it. (Or, shatter it and go for the three grilled cheesees.)

Meanwhile, I've had several great days of losses. I'm going to force more food today to jump start the metabolism again.

Breakfast - The usual 2 cups of coffee. Flax Oil Gel Tab. Cup of Quaker Instant Oatmeal. (Yes, I ran out of the house and had to fend for myself at work.)

Snack - I eated a M&M Sugar Cookie that Zak made.

Lunch - a Turkey & Cheese on bagel. Thanks again, Zak!

Snack - 3 mini candy bars and a couple pretzels.

Dinner - 2 slices of this fabulous thin crust pizza Russ made.

Observation and Next Goal

Observation:
I was at Sam's Club today picking up a few things after work. I was a little hungry, but not starved. I thought that I'd have a slice of pizza on the way out; I love their pizza with its thick dough and ooey, gooey cheese.

In the past, I'd always have 2 slices minimum, and at times, 3. Now, eating one would be enough of a challenge. But as I approached the line, there were 4 people in front of me, all of whom were already fatties. I'm not putting my fellow fatties down, I'm just saying that I was presented with a mirror and I didn't want to move in that direction - so I stepped out of the pizza line and headed home. I knew that I couldn't order just a slice of pizza. I would have ordered 2 slices - and then ate them both.

Next Goal:
For over a week now, I've had a craving for three grilled cheese sandwiches. Not 1 or 2, but 3 full sandwiches with good bread and real butter. AFTER I drop below 200, I'm making those three sandwiches and I might even eat them all.

February 10 - Raining.

It's going to be in the mid-50's today which sounds awesome, but we're due for rain for the next 48 hours. At least the residual snow will be gone soon. I'm looking forward to the Spring mornings of 50 degrees so that I can go walking instead of spending so much time online.

I hear that exercise can replace coffee as a stimulant, but I don't know if I trust that theory completely. :)

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee. Flax Oil gel tab. Kibble (Dry Fiber One Cereal.)

Lunch - Spinach Salad.

Snack - 100 calorie pack Cocoa Almonds (thanks, Jan!)

Dinner - Friend came over and we got to chatting. When she left after 9pm, I just wasn't hungry. Yes, I know I ate too little today.

February 9 - At Goal for the Month

Yesterday's sleep fest caused me to miss out on lunch and I wasn't really in the mood for dinner. The breakfast was good, but listen kiddies - Unisom is a tool of the devil. Don't do it.

It's freakin' beautiful outside today. Sunny and most of the snow is gone. Grass isn't exactly green, but we can pretend. Supposed to go up to a balmy 48 today. 50's tomorrow and maybe 60 on Wednesday before we are plunged back into the 20's and 30's at the end of the week.

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee. Flax Oil Gel Tab.

Lunch - 1 Cup of black beans w/cheese

Dinner - Spinach Salad. Cheese. Cranberries. Bag of mini caramel rice cakes.
