February 8 - zzzzzzzzz

Last night, Bob & I went to the Laurie Anderson concert. Totally brilliant show. However, I took a Unisom when I got home to help me sleep and now this morn, I can't wake up. Ugh.

Breakfast - 1 cup of coffee. Greek Omelet (feta, spinach, tomatoes). Hash browns. Toast. Yummy.

Dinner - 1/2 cup of kibble (Fiber One Cereal.)

February 7 - Sssssssaturday!

I was up early. Lots to do today. Meeting with a client at 11:30am. Running to drop off a sugar skull at Devout Home in Rocky River. Photographing some jewelry for Russell Trusso later today. First, I'm going to finish up those sugar skulls so that they're ready for Devout Home.

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee.

Lunch - 1/2 corned beef sandwich that Mom left in my car. (Photo is missing. Will have to check my phone.)

Snack(?) - Bob insisted I try this Metamusil "cookie". I think he might be trying to kill me. And a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich.

Dinner - About 2/3 of the leftover lamb korma from last night's dinner. (Bob finished off the meal.)

February 6 - Holding Still.

The metabolism is slowing down. Holding steady at 208 for the third day in a row. I'm going to eat more today - and even though I'll end up gaining weight tomorrow, it'll move my metabolism back.

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee. Yogurt, granola. Slice of Pineapple.

Lunch - this ENTIRE sweet and sour chicken. Delicious, but way too much.

Snack - 4/5ths of this dark chocolate bar. It was so bitter and delicious. And it's good for the heart. Yeah, right.

Dinner. About 1/3 of the Lamb Korma and rice shown. All of the garlic na'an (bread.)

February 5 - Cool.

I think I've sort of figured out how much I can eat in a day to maintain weight - and it's not that bad. Once I lose the weight that I want (another 25 -30 lbs), I shouldn't have a problem adjusting to eating a little more to keep it all balanced.

But first, we have to get to that ideal weight.

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee. Flax Oil Gel Tab. Dry Fiber One Cereal (aka 'kibble')

Lunch - The other 1/2 of that Muffaleta sammich. (Tasty!)

Dinner - Spinach salad.

February 4 - Snow Again

Mom won free movie tickets for the screening of Steve Martin's "Pink Pather II". We're off to see that tonight. She went through a period several years ago when she was entering contests for movies and we saw a boatload of bad movies. Coincidentally, we won tickets to the first Pink Panther remake and it was so awful, she stopped sending in entries for awhile.

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee. Flax Oil Gel Tab. Yogurt & Fiber One Cereal.

Lunch - Spinach Salad w/cheese & cranberries. Carrot Sticks. (They were having pizza in the break room. I fought the temptation and gnawed on the carrots instead.)

Snack - Stopped at Mom's. Had a biscotti.

Dinner - Took Mom to Max & Erma's. Ugh. Tough to find something. Ended up with the 568 calorie black bean roll ups. And they called them "no guilt"!

February 3 - Get On The Scale Daily

26.1 lbs lost.

I got advice early on in this quest "not to step on the scale every day." For me, that wouldn't have worked. You need a way to measure success in any project, and when trying to lose weight, the scale is the way to measure your progress.

Yes, I know that scales can lie. Yes, I know that we retain water and waste that sometimes throw the scales off. But does that mean you shouldn't measure progress? I get on that scale as soon as I drag myself out of bed, confront my naked body in a full length mirror that faces the scale, get on and evaluate the numbers.

Whatever you're trying to accomplish, figure out how you're going to measure your progress. Don't get too discouraged when you're not progressing in the way you had hoped, just keep going. Keep going. Keep going.

Breakfast - 1 coffee. Flax Oil Gel Tab.

Lunch - 1/2 of the muffaletta sandwich shown. A banana. (the sandwich rocked! I'm glad I didn't eat the other 1/2. I would have been stuffed.)

Dinner - went to a restaurant after a funeral service. Had a bite of the salad (too much dressing for my taste.) I did eat that piece of garlic bread on the left side.) Both pieces of grilled fish. And a nummy creampuff.

February 2 - Monday

Just to disprove that losing weight is my only goal in life, I've started a new blog, My Life In Links. On that site I will be detailing the things that I'm doing, creating, consuming and experiencing while linking to as many difference resources as I can. I'm hoping that the linking will foster a curiosity in my readers and that they'll go exploring on their own.

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee. Flax Oil geltab. Yogurt & Fiber One Cereal.

Snack - 10 mini caramel rice cakes

Lunch - Spinach Salad.

Snack - 1/2 an apple.

Dinner - Sweet Potato. Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich.

February 1 - Entering Month 3

Entering Month 3 of Snap It, Fatty. I've lost on average 2.875 lbs a week since the beginning. This past month, the weight came off a little slower than the first, which was expected. February is a shorter month and I expect this to be a bit rougher, but absolutely do-able.

Back to work the Motorcycle Show today.

Breakfast - 2 cups of coffee.

Handful of this, handful of that. Salad at lunch (forgot the picture). 1/2 can of black beens around dinner time. The weekend of the motorcycle show is always a busy/messy weekend. I am looking forward to a regular schedule tomorrow.
